CS14 HP Pluggable endless turn potentiometer ACP introduces the CS14 endless turn potentiometer suited to be mated with a RAST 2,5 card edge connector. The three pins of the potentiometer (the collector and the two terminals) are fitted into a 1,55 mm thick plastic housing with a pitch of 2,5mm. The disposition of the three pins is such that a portion of their surface will get in touch with the metal contact beams of the card edge connector when plugged together. In order to ensure a good electrical connection, the contact surface of the pins is tin plated. The configuration of the plastic housing that accommodates the three potentiometer contacts includes a polarizing slot to prevent incorrect connection of the connector. There are two options to select the location of the slot, either between the initial terminal and the collector or between the collector and the final terminal. The plastic housing shape also incorporates two side entries to allow the latching of the mating connector, either by means of two side hooks or by a sliding tab from the top surface, depending on the connector system chosen. All the existing CS14 rotors, models, ohm values, shafts and accessories can be supplied with this pluggable version. Examples are features like extended mechanical life, mechanical detents, high temperature fitting, assembled shaft, etc.  Furthermore, like in every ACP product family, these potentiometer series can be customized to meet specific requirements. Extended temperature versions covering a range from -40°C to +120°C are available for applications where the working temperature interval exceeds the standard limits of -25°C to+70°C. A typical application would be as feedback position sensor of the cooking style selector of kitchen ovens. CS14V-Everel

ACP has extended their CS14 range with the inclusion of the V12.5×5 model and a rotor shape and size, called the “Y” rotor. The V12,5×5 model features a new pin layout that consists of a 5mm distance between terminals and 12,5x5mm raster. The “Y” rotor is characterized by a reduced size 3 x 4mm “D” shape. The combination of these two features together allows this endless turn potentiometer to be compatible with existing models in the market. Like all the other members of the CS14 family, this new version can withstand temperature ranges from -25ºC to + 105ºC, (or even 120ºC) when configured with the corresponding materials. NEWCOMER: RS9 – Rotary Sensor

ACP expands the range of potentiometer Position sensors with the introduction of the new RS9 series, a 9mm Rotary Sensor that withstands up to 200.000 cycles in a mechanical angle of 240º±10º and for operating temperatures between -25ºC and +85ºC. The product is available on all the existing models of the CA9 series in THT, THR and SMD configurations, in bulk and Tape-n-Reel packaging. The standard value is 10K Ohm ±30%, featuring a 3% independent linearity. Other ohm values and linearity are available under request. Typical application is as angle position sensor in a number of different products like actuators for valves, flaps and automotive rear mirrors; gear shafts, robotics etc. The RS9 is also a cost effective man/machine interface to control or regulate a device or an equipment for more than 10.000 mechanical cycles. All the existing rotors, terminals styles, shafts and thumbwheels already available on our CA9 product family can be configured as RS9 long life sensor. In addition to that, we can offer gear wheels under specific customer requests. ACP is ready to offer bespoke solutions for long life applications based on thick-film technology. CA9/CE9 – THT potentiometers in T&R packaging

Manual assembly of odd form through-hole mount components is a costly process. Customer’s in house automation and commercial equipment solutions exist nowadays in the market for automating this operation with the consequent cost reduction. Different ways to feed these components to this type of machines exist. The popular Tape-n-Reel packaging used in SMD components has become a common one to do so. Configured either or for Wave (THT) or Reflow soldering THR), ACP CA9 and CE9 through-hole mount potentiometers packed in Tape-n-Reel are hence suitable for this automated assembly process. Different pocket versions of the T&R carrier allows picking up the potentiometers either, by means of a gripper or a vacuum nozzle. CS14 CFF – Reinforced Collector

ACP team is delighted to highlight the CS14 carbon endless sensor with reinforced collector (CFF). This mechanical feature provides it a stronger robustness. Thanks to these side ears, whatever additional force applies over the rotor when you introduce a shaft prevents further damage to the potentiometer´s internal structure. In addition, controllers for Appliances and Thermostats are suitable to add detent option in order to assure a specific output value with a narrow tolerance or to add a click feeling.
